A Safe Holiday Experience at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

Please find below a list of questions and our responses pertaining to travel to the Maldives and our operations during this period. We recommend that you read the FAQ below before you plan a trip to the Maldives.

Q. Do I need a visa to travel to the Maldives?
A. No, you will be issued a free 30-day visa upon arrival. However, you have to provide a confirmed resort booking, sufficient funds and confirmed return ticket.
In addition, you will need to submit a Traveler Health Declaration (THD) within 24 hours prior to travel to and from the Maldives. You may access and submit the form electronically via http://imuga.immigration.gov.mv

Q. Do I need a resort booking before arriving in the Maldives?
A. Yes, a confirmed reservation at a registered tourist facility is required prior to arrival in the Maldives.

Q. Can I stay at more than one resort during my vacation in Maldives?
A. Yes. A multi-resort-stay is allowed when you are on holiday in the Maldives.
Should you be planning to stay at multiple resorts during your trip, one of which is Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, please ensure you present details of any multi-resort bookings to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island before you embark on your travel. Please check with your insurance company if you are covered should any of your multi-resort stay plans be disrupted.
We do not require a negative PCR test for all our guests arriving from another resort, luxury yacht, local island, Male and or Liveaboard.

Q. Do I need a travel insurance when traveling to the Maldives?
A. We strongly recommend that you have comprehensive travel insurance with Covid-19 coverage when traveling to prepare for possible disruptions.

Q. If I am feeling unwell with signs of cold or fever, can I still travel to the Maldives?
A. For the safety and well-being of you and your travel companions, we recommend that you reconsider your trip if you are feeling unwell. If you have an existing booking with Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, you may cancel or change your dates of stay up to 24 hours prior to arrival.

Q. Do I need to present a COVID-19 test results before arriving in the Maldives?
A. No,  Pre-arrival PCR  test is not required for guests with complete vaccination (Completed full course of a Covid-19 vaccine that has been approved by Maldives Food and Drug Authority or received WHO EUL, at least 14 days prior to arrival). Only if you are not fully vaccinated and neither are your children then a negative PCR test within 96 hours of travel must be presented on arrival into The Maldives. The sample for the test must be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en route to Maldives. However, please note that infants aged less than one-year-old are exempted from the aforementioned testing requirement. Persons who have a history of contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days and/or persons who have fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat or shortness of breath within the past 14 days should not travel to the Maldives.

Q. Is it required to test for COVID-19 on arrival?
A. No, only passengers who exhibit symptoms such as a temperature of above 38 degrees Celsius, or who are coughing or sneezing, will need to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR at their own cost. The Maldives border authorities has the authority to conduct random tests at no charge.

Q. Do I have to pay if I get chosen for random testing?
A. No, if chosen for random testing on arrival, the Maldives government will bear the costs for testing.

Q. Do I have to spend 14 days in quarantine before I can start my holiday?
A. Tourists who do not have COVID-19 symptoms are not required to undergo quarantine on arrival to the Maldives.

Q. Do we have to wear facemasks at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?
A. Masks will be required on the seaplane, upon arrival and during departure, as well as some other areas of the resort.
We recommend our guests to wear facemasks at the buffet areas and for the children in the “kids club” when they are indoors.
All tourists are required to wear face masks or coverings at the airport, during domestic travel and in all indoor public spaces.

Q. What happens if I develop COVID-19 symptoms during my stay Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?
A. In the event that a guest is found to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, the resort will follow all HPA guidelines and notify the relevant authorities.
Testing and in-villa isolation will be required immediately. If your PCR test results are positive, a 7-day quarantine is mandatory in the resort or a designated government facility.
Contact tracing will be conducted by the resort to identify others who may also need to be tested (“Close Contacts”). All Close Contacts will have to undergo quarantine for 5 days if quarantined individually and 10 days if quarantined together at the resort or if the close contacts have been fully vaccinated they can have a PCR test on the 5th day and if Negative they can be released.
The Doctor or Nurse based on the resort will provide primary care while you are in isolation; should your symptoms require clinical care, this will be arranged. If required, a transfer to a designated accommodation or government facility under the HPA will be arranged.
Please note there will be expenses borne by guests during the period of isolation. Please check with your insurance company if you are covered.

Q. What medical facilities are available at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?
A. The resort has an onsite medical clinic with a doctor and nurse available 24 hours. A medical center is also available at the nearby island of Mahibadhoo which is a 25 minute boat trip from the resort.

Q. What happens if a positive or suspected COVID-19 case is identified at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?
A. HPA guidelines will be followed. The resort team will work together with HPA and follow requirements on isolation, testing and contact tracing for the individual(s) concerned, along with stringent protocols to keep all guests and employees safe.

Q. Can I get a PCR test done at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?
A. Yes. If you require a PCR test prior to departure, please advise the resort at the time of reservation or on arrival at the latest, so we can facilitate the swab test in time. We will need to send your test to Male, and the results will be released within 12-48 hours.
Our resident doctor and nurse will assist you during this process. Your personal Island Host will be happy to make the arrangements.
PCR testing is available three times daily at the following times: 9:00AM – 9:30AM, 12:00PM – 12:30PM and 5:00PM – 5:30PM

Q. Do I have to take a COVID-19 test before I can leave the Maldives?
A. This will depend on the Covid-19 PCR test requirements of your airline and country of destination. If you require a PCR test prior to departure, please advise the resort at the time of reservation or on arrival. The costs of the PCR test will be charged to you.

Q. If I test positive for COVID-19 when I get back to my home country, what should I do?
A. If you test positive within 5 days of returning home, please ensure you get in touch with the resort you stayed in the Maldives immediately, and they will contact the Maldives Ministry of Tourism and HPA.

Q: Does Conrad Maldives Rangali Island accept guests on split stays?
A: Yes, PCR tests are not required for guests traveling to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island from another resort in the Maldives.
